Harris Academy Battersea wins Evening Standard Award
Harris Academy Battersea was one of four schools to be honoured at the Evening Standard School Awards, recognising the most outstanding state schools in London. The school’s award was for academic excellence.
The award comes after a very successful year for the academy, which has the highest Progress 8 score in London.
The Jack Petchey Foundation, which sponsored the awards, gave the winning schools cheques each worth £1,000 to mark their success.
Dr David Moody, Principal of Harris Academy Battersea, said:
“It’s great to have school success but when you get the individual kids’ results in August, that’s when you punch the air.”
Dr Chris Tomlinson, Regional Director of Harris Secondary, said:
“We are so pleased that the hard work of students and staff has been recognised with this award and look forward to going from strength to strength in the years to come.”
