Harris Futures Launch at The House of Lords

In October 2023, the Harris Federation hosted a drinks reception at The House of Lords to celebrate the launch of our new alumni programme, Harris Futures. This program aims to provide a powerful network for former students to connect with each other and reconnect with their former academies.

Lord Harris introduced the evening and Sir Dan Moynihan, the Harris Federation’s CEO, delivered an impactful keynote speech, reminding students of the incredible impact that Harris has made across London.

Following Sir Dan, we heard from a former student from Harris Academy Cystal Palace, who spoke about the impact of a Harris education in supporting her to secure a place to study medicine at The University of Manchester. She spoke highly of her teachers and peers and encouraged other former students to get involved with Harris Futures to support our current students in achieving beyond expectations.

After these galvanising speeches, former students had the opportunity to network with each other, alongside former teachers. The evening was a resounding success, and it was a privilege to see so many inspirational former students show up to support the Harris Federation in their efforts.

Attendees shared their thoughts after the event:

“Hearing the stories of those who attended schools within the Harris Federation, what they’ve gone on to achieve and their aspirations for the future warmed my heart in a way I can’t quite describe.” (Former student at Harris Bromley Girls’, 2014-2021).

“Many of us are already eager to share our experiences, insights, and resources with current students.” (Former student at Harris Battersea, 2018-2020).
