Community Hubs
Supporting Our Community Hubs
Our Community Hubs represent an exciting new initiative that transforms schools into powerful centres of community support. Each Hub provides access to essential services, including food banks, advice services, and wellbeing support. These are places where families can find help, comfort, and connection, creating a sense of belonging and reassurance.
By building trust, ensuring resources are available, and deeply embedding schools within their communities, we are demonstrating the vital role schools can play in supporting families.
With your help, we can expand these Hubs, reaching more families and ensuring that the support they offer continues to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
The Need
In some of our primary academies, 1 in 3 students are eligible for free school meals, meaning their families’ annual income is £7,400 or less. Since the pandemic, the number of our families struggling to meet basic needs has grown.
We know some of our families struggle for food, for access to hygiene products, to keep their growing children in clothes and shoes. Some of our students have told us that they don’t have toys or books at home. We see it as our duty to do what we can to change this.
Our Response: Community Hubs
In response to this urgent need, we have established Community Hubs across our primary academies. These hubs are safe, welcoming spaces where families can access the support they need—whether it’s nutritious food, clothing that fits our students properly, or other essential resources. Our goal is to ensure that every child has what they need to flourish both in and out of school.
Can you help?
To make these Community Hubs as impactful as possible, we are seeking partners and donors who share our commitment to supporting local families. Your contributions can make a profound difference:
- £10 would buy nappies for our Community Hubs, allowing families to access as needed;
- £100 provides durable footwear for four children, ensuring they can walk to school safely and comfortably;
- £1,000 supplies a Community Hub with tinned food and dried goods for an entire year, helping to alleviate hunger in our communities.
We also welcome in-kind donations such as factory seconds, vouchers, or collections of good-quality second-hand clothes.
