Harris at King’s College London
Former Harris students and current KCL students, Cate and Folajimi, delivered a series of workshops focused on enhancing Year 10 students' communication, creativity, and collaboration skills. Their efforts culminated in a remarkable finale at King’s College London, where our students presented their final projects to an audience comprised of professors, students, and peers.
The ‘Academia 101’ program spanned four weeks, focusing on developing essential academic and personal growth skills. On Friday 21st June, our students showcased diverse projects that ranged from explorations of World War II and the rise of the Chinese economy, to analyses of Formula 1 and popular musicians.
The presentations were a blend of creativity and educational insight, featuring theatrical performances, PowerPoint presentations, speeches, art and poetry. Witnessing our students' confidence and enthusiasm was truly inspiring.
Dr. Leigh Wilson posed thought-provoking questions during the event to challenge our students' understanding and critical thinking abilities.
One of our Year 10 students shared her thoughts after presenting:
"I felt like what I was presenting was genuinely important - I'm really proud of what we produced."
Thank you to Cate and Fola, and congratulations to our Year 10 students! This event is another testament to how former Harris students are making a real difference- we look forward to continuing our collaboration with alumni at King’s College London next year.
