Harris Experience Y9 Introduction to Law with Kalisher
On March 10th, our Y9 students were exceptionally lucky to attend a one-hour virtual session on 'Life in the Law' with esteemed legal representatives. During an event organised Kalisher, a legal charity which aims to widen access to the bar, Y9 HEX students participated in a legal quiz and listened to a criminal barrister and a judge speak on their experiences entering and working within the legal field. We have been working with Kalisher for a number of years, and our events are designed to get the students thinking imaginatively about their role as legal citizens and 'jurors of the future.' Students left the session inspired, particularly after having the chance to ask their own questions. We were impressed with how well students' queries showed their budding legal insight, and their conception of how the law functions within British society. We look forward to future events with Kalisher!
