Class of 2020 shine in their A Level results and beyond
In a year with no public examinations and no school for Year 13 since lockdown in March, the Harris Federation’s ‘Class of 2020’ have been the epitome of resilience and patience.
We are so very proud of their achievements. These figures may well rise over the coming days and weeks but, with 2,320 students in the year group, this is where we stand now:
- 20% have places at Russell Group universities, significantly higher than the national average (12%) despite the fact that our schools are predominantly located in disadvantaged areas of London.
- 52 students won places at Oxford and Cambridge – 38 at Harris Westminster Sixth Form, and 14 from the Harris Experience Programme at the rest of our academies. The majority – 32 in total – are BAME and 18 are eligible for the 16-19 bursary fund.
- 26 students are going on to read medicine and around 150 in total have opted for healthcare related degrees, including nursing, pharmacology, physiotherapy and veterinary science. We cannot wait to see the positive impact they have on the world.
- Our students continue to win places on elite apprenticeships including with Goldman Sachs, UBS and KPMG.
Congratulations to our students and thank you to our staff, who have worked so hard during what remains of the summer to provide the most fantastic support with clearing and appeals.
