41 Harris Federation students off to medical school!
41 students from across the Harris Federation have secured the grades they need to study medicine at universities across the UK today.
Congratulations are due to all Harris academies sending students to medical school, including Harris Westminster Sixth Form which has an amazing 23 medics this year and the seven Harris academies sending students to medical school for the first time. These are: Harris Academy Beckenham, Harris Garrard Academy, Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich, Harris Academy Greenwich, Harris Academy Purley, Harris Academy Riverside and Harris Academy Tottenham.
We provide a great deal of support to all our sixth formers applying for university places, both individually at each academy and through our Harris Experience programme. We are pleased that, this year, the acceptance rate for medical school at Harris (21%) was more than double the national figure (9%).
Some of our medicine cohort have overcome huge obstacles in their personal lives in order to succeed in their A Levels, including chronic health conditions of their own, caring responsibilities and economic deprivation and homelessness.
Well done to all our young medics on your fantastic results.
