Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

To mark National Apprenticeship Week 2025, we highlighted the value of apprenticeships as a key career option. At Harris Futures, we are proud of the growing number of former students who have successfully pursued apprenticeships across various industries.

To celebrate the occasion, we caught up with three inspiring Harris Federation apprentices- Amy, Eliza, and Andrew- on the Harris Futures Podcast. These incredible individuals, who attended Harris Boys' Academy East Dulwich, Harris Girls' Academy Bromley, and Harris Academy Merton, shared their personal apprenticeship journeys and how they navigated the transition from student to apprentice. Their stories offer a unique perspective on what it’s like to be on the other side of the apprenticeship experience, providing valuable insights for anyone considering this route.

If you're exploring apprenticeships or simply curious about the process, this episode is a must-listen. Tune in to hear about their experiences, challenges, and successes, and gain tips on how to make the most of your own journey: Listen to the episode here.

But that’s not all! In honour of National Apprenticeship Week, we also released a special bonus episode featuring Samuel Okusaga, former Harris Westminster Sixth Form student and founder of The Apprentice Advantage. Samuel’s initiative helps sixth-form students better understand apprenticeships by equipping them with the essential skills for applications and interviews. His programme focuses on supporting diverse and underrepresented students, empowering them to secure offers for top professional services and apprenticeship schemes. Listen here.
