Scholars' Event- Shaping Harris Futures

Former students from our academies recently gathered at Harris Westminster Sixth Form to participate in an engaging ideas forum.

This fantastic event provided our alumni with a platform to delve into thought-provoking discussions on key areas of growth and development within Harris Futures.

Throughout the evening, alumni explored crucial topics- sharing insightful ideas and advice. It was heartening to see teachers, who were present, re-establishing connections with their past students.

The forum also offered an opportunity to reflect on all of the incredible support that alumni have already provided in the first sixth months of the development of this network. Across our academies, former students have contributed significantly; delivering careers talks, participating in speed-networking and mentoring, featuring as guests on our podcast "Harris In Conversation: with Alumni," appearing in video content, and much more.

As the forum concluded, attendees transitioned to a drinks reception- this was a wonderful opportunity for former students to reconnect with alumni from their own academies and from across the federation.

The success of this event reinforced the importance of consistently providing opportunities for former students to shape this network. After all, who better to do so than Harris alumni themselves?

Here's what alumni had to say about the evening:

"We explored ways to enhance financial support, promote equality and diversity, and improve access to better facilities, teaching, and resources to ensure everyone within the trust is engaged and supported."

"I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and am grateful for the opportunity to be part of a network with such potential and capacity to achieve great things."
